Michael Timmons Obituary

Michael E. ‘Mike’ Timmons, Rockledge, Florida, formerly of Logansport, joined his Lord in Heaven on Saturday June 15, 2019, at the age of 69.

Mike was preceded in death by parents, Jacob E. Timmons (deceased 08/25/2018) and G. Josephine Timmons (deceased 02/15/2009); brother Donald J. Timmons (deceased 01/2/1992); maternal grandmother Mary J. Hershberger; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence & Estella Hartman Timmons.

Surviving are his wife, Laurie Timmons of Rockledge; sons, Nathan Jablonski of Boston, Garrett Jablonski of Orlando, and Logan Timmons of Chicago; brothers, David W. and Thomas P. Timmons of Logansport: sister and brother-in-law, Susie & Hal Oliver of Logansport, sister and brother-in-law, Teresa & Mike Almon of Logansport; uncle, George R. Timmons of Logansport; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David & Edie Werner of Milwaukee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Klara Werner of Houston; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Born on May 3, 1950, in Logansport, he was the first son of Jacob E. and G. Josephine Timmons. On June 2, 1995, in the backyard of a neighbor’s home, he was married to Laurie J. Werner.

Mike attended St. Vincent Elementary and Lincoln Jr. High School. A 1969 graduate of Logansport High School, Mike graduated in 1971 from North Florida Junior College where he played basketball and was a member of the Chi Delta Tau fraternity.

Mike was a Sales Manager for Pearl Abrasive Company in the State of Florida for over 30 years.

Mike was also a Third Degree member of the 5150 Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Florida-Half Century softball team and Clermont Softball League where he will forever be remembered as the “home-run hitter” because all he had to do was tag first base and go to the dugout.

If you were to ask a person to describe who Mike Timmons was, they would say he was the most kind, caring, and loving person with a heart of gold. While his passing is saddening it has also brought to light the countless lives that Mike had touched during his time with us. Mike brought a sense of happiness, joy, and laughter everywhere he went. He could brighten a day just by the way in which he answered his cell phone.

The way in which he lived life is something to be admired because his love for friends, family, and even complete strangers, knew no bounds. His willingness to lend a hand and provide support at the drop of a hat was simply amazing. Mike loved every person he met and found ways to brighten their day with a simple phone call from time to time. Mike opened his home, his heart, and his family to anyone he encountered. He was a man of the highest character and integrity; one in which we should all strive to be.

As the years go by, memories may fade, but the mark that Mike Timmons left on this world will never die. As Maya Angelou once said, “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel”. Mike made everyone feel a love like no other.

To all those who had the pleasure of meeting Mike, we thank you for bringing happiness and joy to his life. Each and every one of you will forever be a part of the Timmons Family (whether you like it or not). Mike will be missed tremendously, but we as a family are both proud and thankful to have had the chance to be with him during his lifetime.

To the best Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend, Co-worker, Teammate and Fishing Buddy that we ever knew, we say thank you to you Mike. We will always love you.
