Michael G. Nicoll, age 80, Logansport, passed away on April 5, 2026. Born in Logansport on September 17, 1945, he was the son of the late Dorothy Iona Nicoll.
Mike attended the Logansport schools and received a GED from the United States Air Force in 1963. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1965.
Mike was the sexton at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport for eight years before his retirement.
In his earlier years, he played golf, pool, bowling and Little League. Mike was honored to have hit the very first “home run” in 1958 at Crain Field. He was also proud to be a Sea Scout.
Mike helped organize girls’ softball in 1978, and in 1980 he coached a team from Farmers and Merchants Bank. His 9-12 girls’ team won the first girls fast pitch softball in the State of Indiana.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Cherri. Also surviving are daughters, Michelle (Bob) MacGregor, Gilbert, Arizona, Marlena (Michael) Howard, Bozeman, Montana, Misty Minnick, Logansport; a son, Ryan (Mercy) Nicoll, Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Logan, Wyatt, Megan, Morgan, Collin, Allie, and Lexi. And his beloved dog, Cinnamon.
Mike was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Newport, and a brother, James Marlatt.
At Mike’s request there will be no services.
