Oliver Iannelly Crain was born on July 1, 1998, a healthy ten-pound baby boy, to Jim and Becky (Wade) Crain. He joined his big brother, Samuel, and with the love of these two boys, his parents knew they wanted more children. A few years later, his sister, Isabelle, and his brother, Harrison, completed their beautiful family of six.

As Oliver grew, we realized he was our “go to” man. He could fix anything! There was nothing he couldn’t do or create. When he was fourteen-years old, wanting his first job, Oliver stood at the back door of Bruno’s Pizza waiting to turn in his application.

Oliver graduated from Logansport High School in 2017. His instructor encouraged him to pursue a career in trades. He was offered a program in welding and then accepted a job from Dilling Mechanical. He then joined Core mechanical, later, Barton Mechanical, working in HVAC. Most recently, Oliver was employed with Mike Anderson Auto Group as property manager.

His first project was working at the Logansport Golf Club, alongside his Mother and Bill.  Oliver did everything from fixing the dishwasher to working on the irrigation system. He was a favorite among his fellow workers and the members of the club, due to his friendly and witty personality and beautiful smile.

Oliver’s passion for hunting and fishing were like no other. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved to be on the water. Lots of wonderful memories were made doing these things with his family. Oliver and his dad were inseparable, working on and completing many projects in the garage.

There were many changes in Oliver’s life as he gained additional parents, Bill Thompson and Andrea Crain. He was receptive to the love from both sides.

As Oliver matured, he “out-witted” the wittiest. His infectious humor brightened every room he entered, filling it with laughter and joy.

Oliver was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Wade; aunt, Cathy Wade (her partner, Candy Nicholas, survives), uncle, Jimmy Motel; step-grandfather, George Voglund, and aunts, Dana Crain, and Shirley Crain.

Surviving are his parents, Becky (Bill) Thompson, Jim (Andrea) Crain; siblings, Samuel Crain (Ashley Borden), Isabelle Crain (Paxton Anderson), Harrison Crain, Chloe Thompson, Colin Thompson, Damon (Taylor) Foreman, and Austin Foreman.

Also surviving are Oliver’s maternal grandmother, Margaret Ruth Voglund; maternal aunts and uncles, Bernie and Christiana Uszcienski; Robin and Jay Carter; Sue Motel, Kim and Mark Burr, Dee-Dee and Todd Walters; paternal aunts and uncles, Don Crain, Patricia Mitchell, Rita Kleinschmidt (Steve Muehlhausen), Steve and Deb Crain, and Anita Huddleston (Phil Heckathorn).

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 12th, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral & Cremation, Market at Seventh Street.

The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church, 112 East Market Street. Father Adam Mauman, pastor of All Saints, will officiate.

In memory of Oliver, memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Community Foundation, for the planned construction of a “Bethel Community Chapel” located at Bethel Cemetery, where Oliver will be laid to rest.

Contributions to the Community Foundation may be mailed to Post Office Box 441, Logansport, IN  46947-0441. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
