After the war he worked for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles administering driving tests. He then chose his career as an electrician working out of  IBEW Local 668 in Lafayette.

Ova was an accomplished woodworker. He lovingly made many pieces of furniture, dollhouses and decorative items. He was happiest in his garage, working on a project.

Surviving are son, James (Gail) Huff, Morgantown; daughter, Connie (Don) Tribbett, Logansport; grandchildren, Dana (Troy) Zimmerman, Melissa (Brad) Sommers, Jennifer (Bryan) Kistler, and Jason (Jennifer) Huff, all of Logansport, and Corey (Katie) Gullion and Caroline Gullion, both of Chicago; twelve great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at McKinney Place. You made Dad truly feel at home. You are all special, loving people. We were fortunate to have you in our lives.
