Richard Lee Cotner Obituary

 

Richard Lee Cotner, age 87, Logansport, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 in McKinney Place.

Born on July 1, 1934, in Wabash, he was the son of Ora L. and Catherine (Thrush) Cotner.

On June 12, 1955, in Logansport, he was married to Dolores J. Heck, who preceded him in death on March 28, 2018.

Richard was a farmer and had been an electrician and employed with Matthew Warren, where he retired after 33  years of employment.        

He was a member of the Walton Masonic Lodge 423 and the New Waverly United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and was involved in missionary work and church projects. He was a member of Gideon’s International and the New Waverly Fire Department.

Surviving are sons, Richard M. ‘Rich' (Deb) Cotner, Adamsboro , Randy J. (Barb) Cotner, Punta Gorda, Florida; daughter, Rebecca Jeanne ‘Becky’ (Robert) Pear, Peru.

 Also surviving are grandchildren, Courtney Cotner, Kyle Cotner, Allison Cotner, Dana & Tabatha Hildebrand, Tasha Cotner, Angelina Pear and Sean Pear; great grandchildren, Owen Cotner, Paula Pear, Josephine Mullins, Emma Hildebrand; several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding Richard in death were a son, Ross R. Cotner, brother William Cotner and sister, Betty Eller.

The visitation will be on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Kroeger Funeral Home. A Masonic Lodge service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the New Waverly United Methodist Church, with Rev. Nita Ramos and Rev. Mark Foreman officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
