The family will be receiving guests on Friday July 12th from 4 – 8 pm with vigil prayer and rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 South Broadway Ave, Montgomery, IL 60538. The funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday July 13th at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Aurora, IL. Burial will be in Logansport, IN at Mt. Hope Cemetery on Monday July 15th at 12:30 EST.
Rita Kathleen Brink, 67, of Aurora, IL passed away from complications of ALS on July 4. Rita was born in Jacksonville, IL on April 24, 1957. She was the daughter of James and Evelyn (Stolz) Ring. She married Philip T Brink of Logansport IN on November 22, 1980.
She was a longtime, active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, member of St. Anne’s and the Knights of Columbus Bellarmine Ladies, coordinated volunteers for Hesed House for Holy Angels, & was supportive of Waterleaf Women’s Center. She was awarded the Aurora Deanery Council of Catholic Women “Woman of Inspiration” from Holy Angels.
She was payroll & office manager at Aurora Circuits until retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Phil, and 5 children: Christopher of Chicago, IL, Nicole (Pete) Sherick of Fort Mill, SC, Michael (Megan) of Lake Zurich, IL, Eric of Aurora, IL, James (Maggie) of Cleveland, OH; 3 grandchildren, Nolan, Olivia, and Alena Sherick. She is also survived by her 4 siblings. Mary Ann (Greg) Sullivan, Father Joe Ring, Kevin (Penny) Ring, Teresa (David) Cramer, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Theo Brink.
