Scott Edward Bender, age 48, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Vernon Health & Rehabilitation Center, Wabash.

Born March 23, 1973, in Peru, he was the son of Lawrence and Sue Cook Bender. His father survives, residing in Kokomo.

Also surviving are a sister, Angela Sue Bender, Peru; aunts and uncles, Terry and Kathy Cook, Indianapolis, Kathy Packard, Logansport, Helen Logsdon, Peru, Tom and Becky Bender, Bunker Hill, and Therese Bitzel, Peru; cousins, Caitlin Cook, Indianapolis, Rachael and John Clemmons, Peru, Todd and Kristen Bender, Minnesota, Kristi Ellers, Florida, and Pete (Sara) Graham, Russiaville.

Scott was a graduate of Logansport High School.

He had been a resident for the past four years at Vernon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wabash, where he became a member of their larger, extended family. Scott enjoyed kisses and hugs but he also loved trucks of all kinds: garbage, pickup, semi, dump, fire, you get the idea. His favorite foods were sausages, mandarin oranges, pepperoni pizzas and sweet tea.

Scott’s family deeply appreciated the care he received at Vernon in Wabash.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Kroeger Funeral Home. (Live stream at www.kroegerfuneralhome.com/livestream)

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
