Therese Anne Marie 'Terry' (Scheuer) Brown

Therese Anne ‘Terry’ Brown, 91, of Logansport Indiana, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport. 

Born February 17, 1929 in Waukegan, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Susan (Harrison) Scheuer.

On April 23, 1949 in Waukegan, she was married to Donald I. Brown, who preceded her in death on November 30, 1990.

Terry was a 1947 graduate of Holy Child Academy in Waukegan.  She began her nurses training at Saint Xavier College in Chicago, and later completed and received her degree as a registered nurse from Indiana University at Kokomo. She was employed at Logansport Memorial Hospital for over 25 years.

Terry and Don moved to Logansport in 1955, when Don accepted the job of Director of Nursing Services at the Logansport State Hospital. 

Together, Terry and Don had five children. Family time was always a priority for the Browns. The family often vacationed by exploring and camping in different parts of the country.  Terry also enjoyed being involved as a Girl Scout Leader and a Boy Scout Leader. 

In later years, Terry became an avid antique collector, loved trips to the Covered Bridge Festival, and spent many winters on the warm beaches of Panama City Beach, Florida.

Terry was a member of All Saints Catholic Church for over 60 years.  Church involvement was a way of life for the family, and it was important to Terry that her children attend St. Joseph Catholic School. 

Surviving are five children: Cathy (Tom) Hirschauer, Carmel, Jacqueline “JJ” (Steve) Rivers, Logansport, Mark (Paula) Brown, Logansport, Barb Brown, Logansport and Jeff (Markita) Brown, Kokomo; nephew, Michael  Scheuer, Waukegan, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Tom (Devin) Hirschauer, Maggie Hirschauer, Amy Rivers, Kyle (Kaylee) Rivers, Megan (Frank) Fiore, Jacob (Allie) Brown, Alex (Cassandra) Brown, Sarah (Billy) Strange, and Benjamin Brown; and 11 great-grandchildren; Mallory, Owen, Tommy, Liam, Mariella, Layton, Laila, Anthony, Gabriel, Annabelle, Lincoln and Baby Brown due January, 2021. 

Terry was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Jack and Tom Scheuer, her sister-in-law, Margorie (Denman) Scheuer and great-grandson, Owen Rivers.

A private family memorial service and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church at a later date.

Interment will be in Ever Rest Memorial Park in Logansport.
