Tony Sands Obituary

Tony E. Sands, 75, Logansport, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020.

Born in Burnettsville on May 31, 1944, he was the son of Samuel (Tony) and Frances Sauer Sands.

Tony was a graduate of Burnettsville High School and attended Tri-State College on a basketball scholarship. He retired from Carlisle Industrial Brake and Friction.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Kimberley (John) Button; granddaughter, Shantel Turnpaugh; three grandsons, Jarod Schrock, Ryan Schrock, and Justin Schrock, and their mother, Shelly Schrock.

Also surviving are sisters, Geraldine Landes, Clara (Jim) Humphrey, Jo (Jim) DeHaven and Peg (Ed) Unger; brother, Ben (Sue Sands), sister-in-law, Donna Sands; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Tony in death were his parents; brothers, Robert Sands and Richard Sands; sisters, Ellen Chamberlain and Roberta Bowyer.

There will be no visitation. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
