V. Joan (Kobel) Doran

Vivian Joan Doran, age 90, Logansport, passed away at 10:08 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, in WoodBridge Health Campus, Logansport.

Born January 18, 1934, in South Bend, she was the daughter of Ray and LaBonnie Bruce Kobel.

On September 1, 1962, in Peru, she married Robert E. Doran, who preceded her in death August 13, 2011.

Joan had been employed at Switches/Federal Mogul, retiring in 1994. She had a very long career lasting thirty-five years.

She volunteered her time without question to help others when they were in need. She would go out of her way to help organize Halloween Parties for kids and would custom make their costumes for the annual Elks Parade. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her time on earth.

Surviving are her children, Darlena Ford, Kokomo, Dennis (Jane) Strasser, Logansport, Jani Foreman, Logansport; six grandchildren, Carrie (Bill) Smith, Jamie Dupay, Nick (Aubrey) Strasser, Joe (Haley) Strasser, Kellie (Brad) Hendershott, Maxwell (Ashley) Foreman; six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

A sister, Fayetta Roland, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20th, at Kroeger Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, following visitation, with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
