Larry R. Koker, age 68, Logansport, passed away at 7:05 p.m., on Sunday, November 1, 2015, in Aperion Care Peru.

Born on January 17, 1947, in Saline County, Illinois, he was the son of Jackie R. and Sylvia J. Mahan Koker.

On October 15, 2005, he was married to Pamela J. Grauel, who survives.

Larry had been a computer analyst for the Westville Corrections Facility for 23 years

A United States Navy veteran, he served during the Vietnam Era.  He held both a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree and an Applied Arts degree from Purdue University.

Larry was a member of the former Logansport Eagles lodge.  He enjoyed fishing and online gaming.  He was a master of Trivial Pursuit, and was known by the family as being quite the dancer and a great story-teller.

In addition to Christmas, he loved Halloween, and seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren in their costumes.

Larry was an amazing father and the best damn papaw a kid could ask for.  He loved his dog, Daisy.

Also surviving are eight children, Jackie Koker, Texas, Justin (Paula) Koker, Florida, Robert (companion Brandy Patterson) Hayes, Paris, Tenn., Brett (Anna) Hayes, Burlington, Kentucky, Bert (Teresa) Hayes, Logansport, Jeannie (Jared) Koker, Cave in Rock, Illinois, Dorena (Donald) Hipsher, Camden, and Corinne (Dave) Roland, Logansport; half-brother, Jimmy Koker, Cave in Rock; sister, Karen (Charlie) Ensminger, Mount Carmel, Illinois; half-sister, Sandy Dutton, Cave in Rock; step-mother, Carol Koker, Cave in Rock; a plethora of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter, Rashelle Hipsher.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Kroeger Funeral Home, in Logansport.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. (CST), at Elmwood Cemetery in Equality, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for children’s cancer research.
