Bernard R. “Ben” Rozzi, age 94, Logansport, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, in his residence.

Born October 24, 1921, in Logansport, he was the son of Antonio and Nunziata Ricci Rozzi.

On February 23, 1940, in Monticello, he was married to Una May Benjamin, who preceded in death on February 14, 2004.

Ben was co-owner of Warner’s Greenhouse with his wife, Una.

A United States Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the American Legion Post 60, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 and life member of the 40 et 8 Voiture, where he served as National Sous Director and Chef de Gare of Indiana.

Ben served on the Pine Crest Board of Directors

He was also on the Board of Directors of FTD (Florist Transworld Delivery), where he served three years on the Education and Research Committee, five years on the Public Relations Committee and one year on the Executive Committee.

Ben was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the William Paca Lodge, Sons of Italy in America.

Surviving are a son, William “Bill” (Phyllis) Rozzi, Logansport; brother, William “Willie” Rozzi, Mishawaka; grandchildren, Tony (Anita) Rozzi, Jackie Springer, Chris (Susan) Rozzi, Jennifer (Frank) Korreckt, Stephanie (Mark) Reef, Bill (Kathy) Strahlem, and Amy Brown.

Also surviving are great grandchildren, Shaun Rozzi, Kyle (Whitney) Springer, Kelsey (Matt) Trammell, Sarah Rozzi, Packard Rozzi, Kayla Rozzi, Adam Reef, Matt Reef, Billy Strahlem, Levi Brown, and Katie Brown; great-great grandchildren, Adalyn Rozzi and Ashlynn Strahlem; a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Ben was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann (Bill) Strahlem, granddaughter, Susan Strahlem, great grandson, Kyle Rozzi; brothers and sisters, Charles Rozzi, Carl Rozzi, Nicholas Rozzi, August Rozzi, Joseph Rozzi, Florence Gibson, Mary Graf, Ann Ruther, Virginia Buttice and Theresa Huff.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23rd, at Kroeger Funeral Home, where the William Paca Lodge service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Dominic Petan officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in the Mount Calvary section of Mount Hope Cemetery. Uniformed active members of the United States Army and the local Military Funeral Honor Guard will accord the honors.
